Gambeson from around 1250 based on the Maciejowski Bible. The gambeson has a high and firm stand-up collar. As it has no openings, neither on the front nor on the back, there are no weak points and the gambeson is ideal for exhibition and free combat.

Tim Render I've been looking for an affordable 13th-century gambeson and this one has convinced me. The cut fits the time and the padding is sufficient for light contact sparring. Up close it's evident that the material is cotton instead of linen, but the difference is almost unnoticeable from a distance. One should not hesitate to take a bigger size than one would normally do. Mine was too tight around the chest and elbows. I'll order a bigger size once they are available again.
